Mark Sanford's wife and kids vacate the governor's residence

"COLUMBIA, S.C. - The wife of South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford moved out of the official governor's residence with their four sons Friday, a little more than a month after he admitted to a yearlong affair with an Argentine woman he called his "soul mate."

First lady Jenny Sanford and several other woman moved boxes and clothing from the governor's mansion in Columbia. In a statement, Jenny Sanford said she was heading to the family home on Sullivans Island, some 120 miles east, for the upcoming school year.

"From there, we will work to continue the process of healing our family," she said. "While we will be leaving Columbia, we will return often, and I will remain engaged in activities in my role as First Lady, acknowledging that my responsibilities to my family come first."

Sanford's office did not immediately comment. The governor was scheduled to speak in the southern part of the state later in the afternoon to name a new county official..."

Now if she'll just keep her mouth shut, so her kids can recover a little.

If she wants them to have a good life, she'll take back her maiden name, append it to theirs, and gradually drop the Sanford part completely (except as a middle name).

Let them grow up untainted by their slimy dad.

Heather has two, count 'em, TWO, parents at home. With none of the undercurrent of fear and loathing that happens when they can't stand the sight of each other. So, carry on with your certainty that your Yahweh-approved situation is naturally and ALWAYS better, Heather will be fine. Can't say I can be sure about your kids, though.
