The REVOLUTION has begun. We all knew it was coming.
And it's stupid, stupid, stupid, but it's too late to put the toothpaste back in the tube. The wingnuts bought all those guns, and they have just been itching for a reason to try them out.

When they attacked blacks in North Carolina in the early '70's, the KKK got away with killing people on the street, in addition to their dead-on aim at the black people who were marching. Even though the shooters' identities were known, they were never held accountable. It will be the same way again. These wingnuts will get away with killing liberals at town hall meetings, and the news will say that all parties were guilty, instead of telling the truth.

Keep your kids in the house. It's going to get uglier.

3. It's not just the POTUS. If Biden was to take over, they would still have all
those guns and all of that ammunition they have purchased, and they just really want to shoot. I know some of these assholes. There's no turning back now.

BTW, I live in the South. These rednecks have a major revolution hard-on right now, and nothing will satisfy it unless Rush Limpballs calls their name.

peaceful and orderly counterprotesting.

Just go to the town halls with your signs. Chant what you want. If someone gets in your face screaming insults and RW talking points, turn away from them and ignore them.

If someone tries to punch you, drop to the ground crying and moaning. They'll get arrested.

And I'm not going to go further down this road. Most of these protesters are paid grandma and grandpas and I don't think there is going to be any widespread potentially fatal violence, if any.

And frankly, all of these posts that are turning up the volume on panic do us no good. It will achieve two things only: keeping people from attending and representing the progressive side and ramping up rhetoric --- neither of which will help us achieve the goal of getting health care reform passed in the fall.

Chill, folks.

61. Yes.
The Armed Forces do not have the track record of independence from constitutionally delegated authority that existed in Weimar Germany. Hence, if a group here in the U.S. started a full scale insurrection, President Obama could turn to the Army, Navy, et. al. and still count on the loyalty of a majority of those troops. AK-47's and Pipe bombs can stand up to cruise missiles and Abrams tanks, but something tells me that the average Freeper lacks the cunning, willpower, and nihilistic instinct toward suicidal attack that has characterized our enemies in Iraq and Afghanistan. These guys are fat and happy with their beer and cheetos, give them some time facing real combat, with the blood, shit and horror it entails, and you will find them falling back to momma's basement.

The Nazis, and other RW paramilitaries in Weimar had a high number of WWI veterans, these guys had seen trench warfare for a number of years in the west, or brutal fighting with the Russians out east, these guys not only liked to fight, they knew how. Most of the morons we are worried about are lethal when they are the only one in an enclosed space with a firearm, but when they are met with equal or greater firepower?

Years of Rush et all on military radio.

Decades of fundies infiltrating and now dominating among our corps in training.

The Bush holdovers still in place. Like, all of them.

At least a decade of the use of mercenaries such as Black Water who all have fundie, Republican roots.

I'm not worried about the military yet but to discount the active effort of the right wing to enlist them is a mistake, imo.

But Black Water / Xe does have an air force.

Blackwater expands its fleet of airships

By Michael Hoffman - Staff writer
Posted : Monday Jul 21, 2008 6:02:39 EDT

Blackwater Worldwide is building up its own Air Force.

Airmen might soon find Blackwater blimps patrolling Iraq and Afghanistan skies in addition to its helicopter and light transport aircraft already flying thousands of missions in theater.

According to Blackwater Worldwide CEO Erik Prince, eight Blackwater CASA 212 light transport aircraft flew 11,000 sorties in Afghanistan last year supporting 38 combat outposts over 19,000 square miles. Its aircraft transported more than 40,000 personnel and 9.5 million pounds of supplies last year.

“We moved about 40,000 passengers, and our total costs, our total invoice for that mission is about what the U.S. Air Force is paying for one new C-27,” he said.

http://www.airforcetimes.com/news/2008/07/airforce_blackwater_main_071908/

And that's just one of these outlaw outfits.

So far JUST TODAY we've had several of these meetings cancelled due to angry mobs, people getting punched and scratched, clothes torn off, people arrested. It's all well-documented on the news and on the web.

Remember all those anti-war marches? For every ONE person at a march, there were probably 5 or 10 who WANTED to go, and couldn't get there. It's the same type of math going on, except that these are rightwing thugs wanting to riot, punch, scratch, and yes, shoot: for every one we're seeing there are a handful sitting around the storefront with their guns loaded, talking it up who they want to shoot first.

46. The "wingnuts" didn't buy weapons because they wanted...
to start a revolution and overthrow the government or to shoot liberals.

(I'm not saying that some misguided idiot who has spent far too much time listening to right wing radio, might not go off the track. That IS possible.)

Most people went on the gun buying spree because they feared that Democrats would pass draconian gun laws that would restrict the type of weapons they could purchase or possibility ban or confiscate some weapons. Some who anticipated this happening, seen a dramatic increase in the value of these weapons and planned to sell them at a profit.

Actually allowing people to own firearms is a very liberal and progressive idea. It had always confused me that the Party that supports so many wonderful ideals that benefit the poor and the middle class also supports measures like gun control that allows the ruling class great privilege. Gun control has always been racist.

It's obvious that many will disagree with that statement. If you do please take the time to google racism and gun control. One example you will find:

The historical record provides compelling evidence that racism underlies gun control laws -- and not in any subtle way. Throughout much of American history, gun control was openly stated as a method for keeping blacks and Hispanics "in their place," and to quiet the racial fears of whites. This paper is intended to provide a brief summary of this unholy alliance of gun control and racism, and to suggest that gun control laws should be regarded as "suspect ideas," analogous to the "suspect classifications" theory of discrimination already part of the American legal system.

77. Let's not forget that people have already been killed.
Yesterday's news I guess. I don't think it's hyperbole as far as dangerousness. Perhaps the word "revolution" is what's causing the backlash. I don't care what you call it, and you can call me a wussy, but I stopped wearing my Obama gear because I don't to be a target for one of these idiots out there. I've read of incidents popping up all over the place at gas stations and other places over Obama stickers and what not. I really don't want to risk becoming a meaningless statistic.

Who remembers the names of the people who have been killed thus far. None of us.

79. We heard the death threats that Sarah Palin called up in her Klan rallies.
If we ignore this trend, we're making a mistake.

Maybe the word "revolution" is the wrong word. But, the right wing is obviously being called to violence.

58. I re-read my original post, and it does sound ominous.
It's just that I SEE these idiots every day. I HEAR what they are saying. Some of them ARE cops, so the cops arresting them isn't going to happen in this area...not unless someone steps in from higher up.

All those guns they bought weren't just for show, or in case legislation was passed (which they really did believe that legislation would be passed) . They bought them because there is a "socialist" in the white house who isn't even an American citizen, and they aren't going to stand for any of this. You see? These idiots think they're about to fight the American Revolution all over again.

I have friends all over, and after the election, I heard about some comments that were overheard from relatively nice guys otherwise...betting on how many days till(the unthinkable)...talkin about how much money they could make pimpin' out the missus and daughters-shit like that! What kind of neanderthal/lumoxy/bigots are still roaming this planet?!

They always said it wouldn't be.

More threats of killing ...

We've only had 6 months of an Obama administration, and it's already getting like this. The next couple of years are going to be interesting if someone doesn't put a lid on the media stirring this stuff up.

These idiot wing nuts are not revolutionaries. They're reactionaries.
