NEW RULES FOR TOWN HALL MEETINGS:
1) Cops willing to arrest disruptors are required. These punks need to be dragged out to the tune of "don't tase me bro".

2) Warn the crowd before the speakers come on and at the gate that any disruptors can consider that yelling and screaming and violent behavior will be dealt with severely.

3) Disruptors should be charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace and tresspass. If they get violent add assault and resisting arrest and incitement to riot.

4) Require that all spectators pass through multiple metal detector check points and all bags and electronics x-rayed and that all hand bags are hand inspected.

5) Require that all spectators pass through multiple separated check points to allow security time to weed out the trouble makers.

6) Require all persons to present photo ID so that if they want to get in and disrupt, they won't be able to hide in a crowd.

7) Have a good sound system that can drown out the chanters - a microphone up against a monitor speaker creates a wonderful squeal that will shut up just about any crowd if the P.A. system is loud enough.

8) Require that all participants remain seated and raise their hands if they want to speak. Any who shout out or act out need to be dragged out by the cops and arrested.

9) Keep parking separated from the main event by at least 100 yards and have a secure perimeter around the building so that protestors can't disrupt it with outside protests and car horns, etc.

10) Confiscate weapons, signs, umbrellas, back packs and anything that can be used as a weapon.

11) Force everyone to wear a name badge - no name badge, no admittance.

12) Film it - if someone wants to be a hooligan, they'll have to do it on tape so that they can't deny it in court later after their arrest. No consent to filming, no admittance.

13) Not an actual registered voter in the district in question or a media person? No admittance.

14) Issue tickets to these events - no open admittance.

They (the Secret Service) don't tolerate this kind of crap at Presidential appearances or Presidential candidate appearances and this kind of crap isn't tolerated at Disneyland or in Vegas casinos, and it certainly can't be done at an airport... why are we tolerating it from these right wing thugs at political open houses?

1. To #11, add, name on badge WILL be written by persons checking IDs at door
Anybody who objects can get back on the damned bus.

Also, indoor events are subject to crowd limits per fire codes. Enforce them.

2. Those aren't new rules
Aren't they left over from bush's era, except without the "protest zones" aka cages and invitations????

5. Actually, no-- they aren't. Not in the slightest. Folks were not allowed in to Bush
events. People were kicked out for turning their backs.

These rules do not refuse people entry -- they hold people accountable for their actions.

6. Actually they are based on my experience working the Kerry Edwards rally in Orlando on staff.
with a few variations.

3. Number 8
perhaps rather than just "remaining seated and raising their hands" all speakers have to register prior to the meeting, like most have to when they wish to address an issue at a city council meeting.

Not on the list? too bad..sit down and shut up. And plan better next time.

4. Aren't those the basic rules of behavior in a public forum?

8. Project a copy of the FreedomWorks memo on screen where all can see it as they are entering.
Let these people know that we know the game they're playing. And let those in the audience know what to expect. Forewarned, they're not likely to take it without objecting.
