Health care is actually the GOP Waterloo. It really means...
whether or not the GOP has anything left. They lost in 2008, they lost in 2006, they lost on Sotomayor, lost on the stimulus, cash for clunkers, schip, and it they lose on health care ( which I think they do if any health reform bill passes--they really really lose if it has a public option) they are absolutely dead. I think this single issue is actually their waterloo. Remember, they love to project onto the democrats. If Obama doesn't get health care, he has 3 more years to get it incrementally. if they lose they are toast.

The GOP will lose.

1. I like the way you think.
If only those Blue Cross Dems weren't working against a public option, I might be more optimistic.

2. I totally agree
I was thinking the same thing earlier today. That is exactly why they are acting so desperate.

4. That is the bottom line!
If they had any ideas, we might have heard them.

5. What you said and more
If Obama and the Dems get decent health care coverage for all, they'll be such heros, the R's will find themselves wandering in the wilderness for generations.

Franklin Roosevelt could have continuned getting himself elected every four years if he hadn't died. Obama will have the same popularity.

If we get this in a meaningful way, they're toast.

7. I really, really want to see some R's turn I.
If the sanest -- or at least most independent-minded -- people left in the GOP decide they'd rather not be tarnished by the Repug brand, it could be the equivalent of a political aneurysm.
