Here's a 3 hour idea MSNBC...
How about broadcasting some actual news? Maybe with indepth analysis, investigative journalism and process stories. Or if that is too difficult and expensive just buy some feed from overseas. Some of us are actually interested in what is happening beyond our borders. Not to mention they often cover American news better than our own media does.

Seriously Abrams, filling those 3 hours should be a piece of cake.

8. Oh goodness, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt anyone.
I can only imagine how taxing this concept must be on the folks who actually make programming decisions at the so-called 24-hour news channels. :)

5. Actual news would be a great change! I might be able to get
off my computer, instead of spending hours on it reading what the press won't tell us.

10. not only do they not want to inform the public about
real news (except 20 minutes of KO of course), getting real news is expensive. They want another profit center and don't want to pay the costs of getting real news. It's really cheap to just pay a handful of blathering idiots to sit around and spin the stories that are already out there.

11. This is actually a great opportunity for them.
I have only recently returned to a tiny little sliver of the mainstream media. Olberman, who is doing great things.

MSNBC could really become something like an actual news channel if they choose to fill the Imus slot with some sort of honest reporting.

But I'm not holding my breath.

12. MSNBC is a right arm of the Republican Party/RNC/WH, but ...
Edited on Wed Apr-11-07 10:50 AM by higher class
they don't have enough time left to take advantage of it in the same way they have since MSNBC was born - to impeach Clinton, demean Democrats, spread and tilt the Republican message to a traitorous degree - pretending to be balanced. Hardly.

The Imus show was part of their Repubublican barage. Anyone who calls it a comedy show is mistaken. It's the same old thing - tilt and demean/trash - and not give a voice to our Democratic side of the story.

Do we forget our complaints about press conferences with Congresspeople that were cut away from.
Do we forget how we complained whey they would not cover most of Clinton's words to the public - Rose Garden or wehrever?
Do we forget how we commented on how they carefully covered every minute of what George Bush would say to the very last minute and then rave or praise it.
Do we forget all the Sundays and Mondays compaining about mistreatement on the Russert show?
How many threads have pertained to something rotten that Chris Matthews said or did?
How many total hours were spent on trashing Janet Reno?
How many hours have they given to Joe Leiberman to give his say on things/

I want Imus and Bernard off the air.
I don't want MSNBC to end up making themselves heroes for doing it.
I want the momentum to come from people who saw honor and integrity in that press conference yesterday and who can say NOW IS THE TIME TO DO SOMETHING!
