Recruiting National Guard troops can lead to payouts; recruiter set to make $94K in bonuses
MACON, Ga. - Sgt. Dana Kline is so good at recruiting new National Guard soldiers that he’s set to make a small fortune - $94,000 in bonuses. Kline has managed to get 47 recruits over 11 months, earning him the state’s Meritorious Service Medal and, so far, the highest bonus paid to anyone through the Guard Recruiting Assistance Program.

Through the program, Guard members are offered a $1,000 bonus for every person they sign up and another $1,000 when the recruit ships out to basic training. The program is credited with bringing in 25,000 new Guard members since its launch 15 months ago. >>>snip

Kline credits the military with transforming him from a shy, skinny boy who cried his first night in Marine boot camp into a confident, self-reliant adult. So far, he’s earned a check for $62,000 and is waiting for more when his recruits go to basic training.

3. Local TV Ad
NYC network station. It had both a "mother" and a "father" talking about how their son and daughter wanted to join the Guard. Both said they were very reluctant at first to have a child in the military, but then they said they talked to the recruiter who "put their minds at ease". The father in the ad said, "My son will get experience and training and have money for college." The mother in the ad said, "My daughter will be able to serve in the Guard and be close to home."

Unbelievable. Yes, Dad, he will have money for college, if he lives long enough to make it home. Yes, Mom, she will be close to home if you move to Iraq.

How can anybody still believe this stuff?

4. I can totally attest to this
a guy that I used to work with was in Desert Storm. After he came back he was in the National Guard and would go one weekend a month to do his service. Just before things were heating up w/ Iraq he decided to become a recruiter. He told me that way he wouldn't be sent over there. He recruited one of the guys in our mail room and guess where he is now? Yep you guessed it, Iraq. Meanwhile this friend of guy calls me from time to time just to gloat about how much bank he's making.
