How to stop the screaming_ Town Hall Forums
1) At entrance into the facility, have a hand out on "procedures" for asking questions. State that a person must give their name and where they are from, when they begin. Just state that due to recent disruptions and screaming, this is the protocol to make sure everyone gets their questions answered. Failure to follow these rules and rude interruptions will result in their removal from the facility so that the people there can continue.

2) Have someone on computer getting the info on the "disrupter". Have a chain or a series of reliable bloggers connecting the info.

1. Why not just hand out a slip of paper that says "Townhall has been rescheduled and relocated "

6. Then you wouldn't like mine. Have Bouncers at each meeting. If somebody ...
..starts yelling and screaming, throw the bastards out.

15. I would agree if
that is the standard that we set for both sides. At this point, it cleary is not the case.

21. Sure...I mean, if you go into a Club (Bar) and start yelling and screaming and ...
... generally speaking, make a nuisance of yourself, a Bouncer or two will lead you to the Door. :)

The same deal should hold for Meetings.

5. No need to background check, but a page of "procedures" is a good idea, IMO.
And maybe they could sign in on a page that says they agree to the terms of participation and understand that they may be removed if they can't abide by the rules.

7. Metal detectors at the entrance
No signs, no buttons, no T-shirts with slogans, no hats, and like voting you have to be on the list of people from that district.

9. And while getting their names and info....
Announce that anyone who is strongly opposed to socialized government health care, like Medicare, will have their information will be forwarded to the Social Security Administration to cancel their coverage.

Watch them scatter like roaches.

11. Hand out note cards for questions
Have the audience write down their questions. We've held several town hall meetins, on the war and on healthcare, and we always handled questions this way - saves people asking the same question, over and over again. That was just about our only screening. Maybe we were lucky because we never had a gaggle of wackos show up.

19. Great idea. The problem is that they start yelling and piling up all together yelling as
a distraction.
If there is a handout like I said above, stating simply and clearly the two rules, they KNOW that they have been warned and can be removed. This is in keeping with peaceful removal of civilly disobedient and whacked out people. The thing is there has to be either a cop or security at the door so as not to let the nut back in with a gun.
And yes, no guns or knives should be allowed nor nasty signage or any signage.
These meetings are for the people. All people weather they agree or not. They are not for causing distress to people nor are they for "political pranks". They are serious informational meetings and should be conducted as such.
