Gladney�s attorney, David Brown, received cheers from the crowd of about 200 people when he read a statement written by his client.

�A few nights ago there was an assault on my liberty, and on yours, too.� Brown read. �This should never happen in this country.�

Brown told the crowd that Gladney is accepting donations toward his medical expenses. Gladney told reporters he was laid off recently and has no health insurance.

Never underestimate the power of AM / faux spews hate propaganda. Part of me feels a little sorry for this guy. No one, no matter how much I disagree with them, should have to beg to have to cover the costs of what should be a basic right like health care. He has obviously been thrown right under the bus by a fucked up system that just cares nothing for the working class folk, yet fights tooth and nail against those which would help him out.

6. There are some stupid comments on the linked article's messageboard.

However, there is one that is so hysterical that it's worth bringing over.

Gladney showed up at the SEIU protest in a wheelchair. Personally, I think it would have been more effective and dramatic if they had carried him in nailed to a cross.
