What are the chances news networks will give full coverage to Rep Joe Sestak's healthcare town hall?
I say they WON'T.
The networks knew exactly what they were doing - they can now claim they covered the 'Dem side' knowing full well Specter will be a feeble representative and they can also give Specter the cover he needs to go into the primary race.
Joe Sestak deserves equal time, but, I don't think there's a chance in hell the corporate news networks will give it to him.
1. i don't know about cnn, but msnbc was showing specter's town hall....
but they were talking to guests while showing it in a box on the screen and would cut off the person talking to cut in to show people shouting or something where specter said that whatever it was they were shouting about was untrue.... oh, that guy from morning meeting was saying the person had said that over 75 people would be left to die or something. to specter's credit, he said that was flat out untrue.
2. I Quickly Switched To Faux - And It Looked Like They Were Televising It In It's Entirety........
I really don't think that Specter did himself any good at this. I really think Sestak can run circles around Specter.
Bottom line - going into the 2010 midterms - we need to show just how wacko the Repugs are - and paint the picture very vividly. I think there are many Repugs out there that won't want to be associated with this new 'wacko' right. Either they won't vote - or they will change their vote - or the exit polls will be grossly off - because very few will hate to admit that they are Repug.
