and have you ever read it?

My answers - no idea since I've never had the entire policy in my hands. The Web site alone has so many hyperlinks I'm not sure the pages can be counted!

3. I don't recall ever seeing mine
either. I think that they should have to say just what it is they won't cover. No one knows what health problem lies down the road for them and if they knew exactly what would not be covered they would think more than twice about how good their corporate health care really is.

4. I thought you're were going to say they'd think twice about which
illness they were going to get!

Seriously though, I've seen diagnoses twisted to match what the insurance company will pay for.

8. When we had jobs and insurance
Edited on Tue Aug-11-09 05:05 PM by Serial Mom
we asked about details of the policy carried thru my husband's job... they handed us a book with about 1,000 pages (maybe we are remembering it incorrectly or exaggerating a bit, but it was huge, it wasn't just a binder pamphlet for individuals, it was the full version benefits book) written mainly in "legaleeze" with chapters upon chapters referring to other chapters and sections. It was laughable to actually try to find if something was covered.

BTW, it was the ONLY copy for the entire company (of 150 employees) and we were told to return it within 3 days (we did not know what the threat may be if we didn't comply with the 3 days return period).

9. I'm not sure...
...as I've only ever looked through it on-line, and I didn't count the pages. My guesstimate would be about 50 or so, and many of those are the row-and-column diagrams of coverage, co-pay, etc.
