Obama will lose in 2012 if he does not have a generous public option
If Obama either does not get universal health care passed or if a plan passes without a STRONG public option, Obama will lose in 2012. A mandate without a public option is a recipe for long wait times, as we have seen with RomneyCare in Massachusetts. Why? Because insurance companies are smart enough to figure out to know if you pay the doctors crap, nobody can go to the doctors. So if Obama enacts a healthcare plan that he should know will fail, the resulting shortages will embolden those against universal healthcare.

We need a public plan that gives great compensation to our doctors and we need to increase medical school seats/PA/nurse practitioner seats to have more doctors. Anything less is a recipe for disaster.

1. Nonsense.
Keep playing into the GOP's hands and maybe you're right, though.

13. Yup the evil
geniuses in the GOP are all over it, just like they were in 2006 and 2008, how can we even comprehend such political brilliance with our feeble little Democratic minds?

10. Ins't it a little early
for the "IT'S ALL OVER PEOPLE" posts? I expect this during an election year or even a midterm but this fatalistic, "if THIS ONE THING doesn't happen RIGHT NOW" we're going to lose is just kinda dumb.

17. I disagree.
The Republican Party's popularity is in the toilet. What leaders they have are insane. They have been relegated to marginal, regional status.

It hardly matters what Obama does. The Republicans have very little, if any, chance of winning in 2012.
