"You can't believe anything they tell you."

So said a relative of mine who, although Democratic leaning, argued about everything political with me during the past eight years because she heard it on CNN or read it in the newspaper. Some times the discussions got pretty heated as I insisted she was believing all the bias and propaganda being spread by the media. When I told her that the Bush White House was telling the press what to say, she used to tell me I was paranoid and crazy. Finally, the scales are falling off her eyes.

I told her, "You have to question everything including our side because they can be wrong too. You have to do your own research."

She told me she has been as of late, when she realized she was being fed lies and disinformation, and apologized to me for not believing me. I told her to not even believe me but to research what I tell her too. So while we chatted watering in the garden, pigs flew overhead. I never thought I would live to see the day. This tells me that America is waking up. Even with all the displays of ignorance we have been witnessing across the country, people are starting to realize who the real enemy is and that it's the corporate giants and some foreign interests, who have taken over our government and our politicians. Many people are realizing that all these "grass roots" movements are religious crazies and people paid by monied interests. America is waking up and I hope there is still time to undo the damage.

politicians.... and there is no excuse not to know. we have the internet and can find out any information. there is no excuse for not being informed... and cnn, msnbc, faux... none of them is informing any of us.
