Town hall meeting on CSPAN now - care to start a thread?
It's in Maryland with Sen. Benjamin Cardin D-Maryland. He's holding his own- I suggest you watch it.

3. Guy on now who is a consultant for some kind of medical supply company
claiming to know socialized system compared to ours. Says ours is the best in the world.

My question for him is he looking out for his own self interest by claiming so?

4. I really don't see these as "town hall meetings" for the constituents any more
These are just get togethers for the Most Important Real Americans who are the only ones allowed to speak - the Teabagger Thugs. The rest of the public really doesn't get to participate, ask any questions, or anything else.

Seems to me that every single one I've seen covered, it's the same laundry list of questions coming from the same ideological losers of the last election - who still, despite getting their asses kicked in national elections, demand to be recognized as THE MOST IMPORTANT REAL AMERICANS whose opinions are the only ones allowed.

I am still furious after listening to Clare McCaskill's "reassurance" to the crazies - none of whom voted for her, you can bet - that single payer is off the table and that no one in Congress is supporting it (well, then she said...a FEW are). Fuck her. Her ass was elected by people in Missouri who happened to believe and favor that system of health care - and she flippantly tossed THEM aside to appease the MOST IMPORTANT REAL AMERICANS.

These "town hall meetings" have become nothing more than a display to me that the same people who screamed to take away my right to marry in state after state obviously control the Democratic Party as well, because a bunch of screams and threats and gun brandishing and all we do is have meetings to address the Rush/Beck/Hannity phony "concerns." The goddamned questions are the same at EVERY town hall.

5. Boy these people really are concerned about those illegals possibly
getting healthcare from the government.

Who pays for illegals now if they go to an emergency room?

6. I noticed that....and ya know, the Constitution sez ya have to be
"born" to be a citizen...so are they concerned about the "unborn" getting free medical care? I mean, they sure aren't citizens...even if the same wingnuts demand that the woman surrender her control over her own body to placate their demands.

8. One guy talking about the Founding Fathers' philosophy
no which philosophy, though - to state that government shouldn't be involved in health care.

Lots of yeahs!
