They will NEVER cross the aisle on a major issue like this. They didn't with FDR. They didn't with LBJ. And they will NEVER do it with BHO.

Can we just cut the shit and fast forward to a reconciliation vote and get it FUCKING DONE?

1. I thought it was time to do so during the passing of the stimulus bill, when
the house repukes were having a circle jerk over voting against it.

The mad dog was supposed to be Rahm Emanuel, but he turns out to be more blue dog than mad dog.

5. Yep
design a good bill - pass it in the House and craft a way for it to be passed by 50 votes in the Senate. Make it good and pass it. Let them scream - they will anyway. When it works - everyone will win.

I am actually pleased with Pelosi's performance lately. She is at least showing some backbone. Reid still sucks...we need to replace him with someone who has guts.

10. Obama's "bipartisanship" play is just a front to look good for independents....and...
..to be able to say "I tried".

Don't read too much into it.

13. Way past time.
If ever there was a reason for this bullshit it was to convince the independents that we Democrats are willing to put the nation's governance about partisan politics. Enough already, they're convinced. Any moron can see the Republicans don't care about anything except getting 'their' country back.

16. Bipartisanship, is an idea only.
Bipartisanship is a great idea. Our leaders working together on what would be best for the country. But its only an idea. We can see when it comes to major issues, each side stays on their side. There is a lot of debate and news but no progress in helping our nation. I am all for debate for different sides of an issue. Debate allows us to learn all aspects of and issue or idea. But if all we do is debate and not take action then our nation will never grow.

I hope some day we get leaders who understand this idea, embrace it, and become a strong leader!

18. Politically the GOP has everything to lose from effective health reform
If it works, it validates the concept of the welfare state and strong federal government so obviously the GOP is either going to try to derail it or water it down until it fails just so they can say 'see, government doesn't work'. I seriously hope Obama isn't naive enough to not realize this simple fact. I doubt he is, so I have no idea what this bipartisan obsession is about.

19.  Bipartisanship is nothing but failure k*r in the extreme
It's a total bull shit excuse for not pursuing legitimate objectives.

It's a sign of weakness and inexperience.

It's capitulation to the party that deliberately and for it's own benefit drove this country down.

If I see any more if it, I'll realize that the party his lost for good.

Our leaders cannot grow a spine but they can sure act like they have one for a change. Won't cost 'em
a dime but it will do the country a lot of good.

22. What a loser he is!

"In the House bill, there is counseling for end of life,” Grassley said Wednesday during a town hall in Winterset, Iowa. “You have every right to fear. You shouldn’t have counseling at the end of life, you should have done that 20 years before. Should not have a government run plan to decide when to pull the plug on grandma."

Sen. Charles "Gastley" Grassley (R-IA)
http://www.npr.org/blogs/health/2009/08/death_panels_debunked_sen_john.html

"How someone could take an end-of-life directive or a living will as that is nuts. You're putting the authority in the individual rather than the government. I don't know how that got so mixed up."

Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-GA) author of the so called "death panel" provision.
http://www.npr.org/blogs/health/2009/08/death_panels_debunked_sen_john.html

Grassley is a deliberate liar and he knows it. What a disgrace he is. I bet he loses. Iowans are too smart to
put up with someone they KNOW is lying.
