The nut job from Alaska at it again.
(To distinguish her from the nut job from Minnesota(Bachmann) or Iowa(Grassley), etc.) Not that I give a rat's ass what Bible Spice says... but she's not letting this one go.

Palin doubles down on 'death panels'

Former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin defended her claim that the Democratic health care proposal would create “death panels” in a statement Wednesday night slamming President Barack Obama.

“Yesterday President Obama responded to my statement that Democratic health care proposals would lead to rationed care; that the sick, the elderly and the disabled would suffer the most under such rationing; and that under such a system, these ‘unproductive’ members of society could face the prospect of government bureaucrats determining whether they deserve health care,” Palin wrote in a note on her Facebook page.

“The provision that President Obama refers to is Section 1233 of HR 3200, entitled ‘Advance Care Planning Consultation.’ With all due respect, it’s misleading for the president to describe this section as an entirely voluntary provision that simply increases the information offered to Medicare recipients,” she continued.

“Section 1233 authorizes advanced care planning consultations for senior citizens on Medicare every five years, and more often ‘if there is a significant change in the health condition of the individual ... or upon admission to a skilled nursing facility, a long-term care facility... or a hospice program.’"

The White House and Democratic lawmakers have blasted Palin in recent days for suggesting that her own son, Trig, would have had to face a bureaucratic panel to get access to health care under the provision in the House health care proposal because he was born with Down syndrome.

14. even if she did (why isn't there an IQ test for office holders???),
she wouldn't acknowledge it, because it wouldn't help advance her cause of becoming the next President of the United States 1/20/2013 ...

Did the President actually respond directly to sara's statement or is just another lame attempt to puff up her "credibility"?

5. She's so arrogant she thinks she has equal standing with the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
She's an ex-governor who QUIT. She's a former candidate for the vice presidency who LOST. She's not equal to him in stature, intellect, or moral character. She's not qualified to serve his breakfast or walk Bo.

That's her fatal flaw: she thinks she is. She actually thinks that with her BA in Journalism pieced together from short stints at 5 (or was it 6?) colleges and her former role as a governor of a state with a dinky population that she has more experience and ability than a graduate of Columbia Univeristy and Harvard Law School, who used to teach Constitutional Law at the Univeristy of Chicago.

Palin is a quitter, Obama finishes the job. Palin is a loser, Obama is a winner.

Sarah communicates on Facebook.

proxy, or orders of sustaining care are? Wow, let's not decide anything about our health while we're still capable of making our own decisions. I think it's funny that on page 425 (beginning of Section 1233) they're simply modifying the Social security act and that the orders of sustaining care can only apply to states that have removed all legal barriers to recognizing them.

I see where Alaska passed a bill that allows for such things in August 2004. Guess there's no reason Sarah should be aware of it.

10. No, she doesn't. Those words are too big for her.
It's terrorist talk, doncha know? Having been through the living will and end of life decision making for both of my parents, I know how important those decisions are. My sisters and I were comforted to know that what we had to do (or not do) at the end was what our parents wanted. That's what this is about. It's what hospice is about -- what does she think hospice is, a death squad?

13. For the life of me, what was McCain thinking?
He owes us. He brought her to us. Now he needs to make her go away. Not because of us libruls but for the sake of his own party or his legacy will be the Senator and former Presidential candidate who brought down the GOP. On second thought, maybe we should be thanking him.

17. Are they taking applications for this "Death Panel" gig yet?
I happen to be available, and already happen to have a "starter" list of my own -- the complete panel can take it from there. Will it be a GS12, GS13, or higher position or will members be appointed like ambassadors? Will the panel report to a "Death Czar?" (Cue Star Wars theme here.) Do we get to wear snazzy uniforms?

You see, I have several questions before I accept this position. Maybe I should ask ex-Governor Mooseburger?

22. Wow, just wow.
She has no clue what she is talking about. What is even scarier is that there are people out there who think she is making sense.

The bill allows people to receive consultation from their doctor regarding end of life planning, options for treatment, and other services that are generally not covered under Medicare as "not medically necessary". That is what this is. It is an expansion of covered services, nothing more. This complete idiot is either not getting the point because she is too stupid, or she gets it and is intentionally lying because she is morally bankrupt.
