Steve Capus, Pres. of NBC News Division Blames Imus Firing on his Employees
who rebelled against him cataloging Imus Comments for him and "bringing him into the truth." He also says Vivienne Stringer (Rutger's Basketball Coach) just enlightened his mind...and he's so sad and sorry about the wonderful work that Imus did and he listened to Imus EVERY MORNING...but "I just Had to Fire Him" because it's all "just so sad." He says Imus will have another "life" if he wants it.

It was DISGUSTING. Capus was "looking down in angst" throughout the interview with Gregory and he seemed very "insincere"to this viewer. Appologizing over and over for Imus and his Ranch and "good things he's done" and how he loved to watch him ...well..it just doesn't "cut it." Particularly since he BLAMES IMUS FIRING on his EMPLOYEES!

GIVE ME A BREAK...it was the ADVERTISERS PULLING OUT...and MSNBC/NBC and JACK WELCH (manipulating in Background) just loved thems their IMUS...brought them back to their BOOMER DAYS!

Disgusting...but ENLIGHTENING...CORPORATE WHORE MEDIA WITH only "Coach Stringer" managing to look like the ANGEL. O8)

1. Maybe we should just boycott Steve Capus and his NBC hate-network?
Why is anyone defending this guy?

2. David Gregory doesn't look or sound too happy about this
development either, IMO.

I had a feeling this was going to happen last night after it was reported that his sponsors started pulling their ads.

After all in the corporate media, everything is about the "almighty" dollar.

3. I had to turn it off
I was gagging; this guy foaming at the mouth with platitudes for the foul mouth Imus; thank God I don't have to have that ass as my only other a.m. tv news show anymore; I had to flip between CNN and that giggling idiot on Headline News - a terrible choice. Maybe, just maybe MSNBC will fill that spot with REAL Fuckin news!!!

4. David Gregorie says "African American Employees" were so upset by this
Hey...Hey...David Gregory (dancing with "MC ROVE) you say it's only the MSNBC EMPLOYEES WHO ARE BLACK who BROUGHT DOWN IMUS? :puke:

What happened to David Gregory blaming MSNBC's African-American Employees for IMUS FIRING?

Now Craig Crawford turning and digging a big whole saying he wouldn't have thought Imus would go down but his "E-Mails" were all agains Imus!

Gregory now saying "Was this a Feeding Frenzy?"

Oh God...DAVID...GIVE IT UP!

5. The "Mea Culpa's from Everyone as Guest on Hardball makes one want
to puke! When will we hear from Condi and Colin and Dodd and Biden and Kerry and Frank Rich and the numerous folks who as the guy just now on MSNBC just said...saw IMUS as "the show to be on to promote your book and to get your voice out there."

Imus was a Prince for the Media....maybe even a KING...and lot's of folks are very sad about this.

What was in it for them? It's beacause Imus was there..and there were NO OTHER OUTLETS except C-Span..

BRING BACK THE "FAIRNESS DOCTRINE!" We've been since Reagan WITHOUT IT!

Dialog and Book Promotion and Voices of Politico's shouldn't be left to IMUS and C-Span! We need MEDIA DIVERSITY!!!!

6. It's a matter of "insider elites" vs. "them students."
Capus doesn't socialize with "those basketball players" ... or people who look like them or come from that "class." People like Capus ONLY know people like Capus, so the only people who are "humanized" are the people he knows.

It's easy to have empathy for one's own friends. But the corporate elite are so accustomed to regarding everyone else as mere "demographics" and "audience share" and "consumers" (commodities) that there's no balance in their perspective. These people have a VERY inflated sense of their own "worth" - always attributing their relative 'success,' not to a privileged upbringing or affluent families, but to their own smarts and superior skills or mores. This is a kind of self-absorption ... a myopia.

It's expected. This is the main reason that "the establishment" is corrupted. When people hire employees "in their own image" then it just gets worse.

Corruption NEVER recognizes itself. Capus genuinely believes Imus is a "good person." He can't help it.

14. Yep...what you say...is what I saw from NBC's Head Honcho Capus.
He just doesn't quite get it...because folks he hangs around with are just fine with Imus...but(to hear Capus) his employees..."geeze they just got all upset about this...and what could I do? I just had to listen to my employees...(but I was watching as our advertisers peeled off in numbers that couldn't sustain our support for the show...so ...sadly...we just had to let the poor fellow go...as much as we all and the DC Beltway folks loved his ass."

8. I am not going to pile on Capus.
So far, Keith Olbermann has had nothing but praise for how Capus has handled this--and HE bears no love for Imus AT ALL.

I'm looking forward to seeing what he has to say now that it's done.

10. What happened between Monday's suspension and today?
Did Imus say something else racist?

Did Imus use the "N" word?

Did Imus say he was against the Iraq war?

Did Imus call Cheney a war criminal?

first Procter & Gamble and Staples, then others. It's all about the Benjamins, you see.

19. Yep. It was about color; and that color is ... GREEN. (Love that coach!)
I think General Motors and Proctor & Gamble were the Hiroshima and Nagasaki that hit Tojo Capus the hardest.

16. THE PEOPLE STOOD UP and Rutger's Coach gave Magnificent Explanation of what
was said by Imus and how it was just plain...wrong. And, lots of us sent MSNBC and their Advertiser our comments about why Imus should be FIRED...and there was a HUGE MOVEMENT...that managed to break through the Corporate Media Lockhold on our AIRWAVES!

Heck...I'm not black but I sent MSNBC an email in their Comments Sections telling them "I'm not Black but what Imus said was abominable and we out here in America have had ENOUGH OF THIS HATE TALK!

Lots of folks like this whitey here were pissed off and had had enought that through in with all those who have been fighting for decades against racial epithets.

17. Let's not forget women were also degraded.
"Ho" knows no color. Thanks for your email to MSNBC KoKo.

I have mixed feelings as I agree with Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton about the fact that this should only be the beginning of an outcry against racism and misogyny.

20. I disagree
I thought they did this because the advertisers pulled out (which is a legitimate reason), but he seemed very sincere and convinced me of the reasons he said.
