If you think about it - what the health care protesters want is increased government spending
Edited on Sat Aug-15-09 12:17 PM by Tony_FLADEM
These people do not want the government to curtail care for people close to death, and some of them are afraid disabled people on Medicaid will lose out.

The result of what they are advocating for is Medicare spending on auto pilot and Medicaid to continue as is.

Too bad those idiots protesting are not smart enough to figure this out.

1. That's the problem.. they are not thinking like rational human beings.
They have allowed hate and fear to take over their lives. Its sad really. Those are the people you have to drag along kicking and screaming. They only realize years later that the programs that were implimented actually do work or work ok enough that they don't want to let them go.. look at all the old people showing up saying "no reform, and don't touch my medicare". Me, Me, Me mentality. But then again this society has taught everyone from an early age on that this society is not fair. Its all about money. AND shiney objects somehow show your life's value. Which is just wrong and backwards. I think its these type of people that just cannot accept that a change from this type of mentality and lifestyle can and should happen.. and NO, we aren't going to throw away grandma.. even though many families seem to do just that when they park their aging relatives in a nursing home to just lie there in a humiliating end to their lives.

2. And increased private spending by those who can still afford it
People without insurance still get some treatment in emergency rooms. Then the hospitals eventually get it back from the insurance companies, who charge their policyholders more in premiums (the estimate currently is $1,000 per year from each insured just to cover the uninsured). As people have to give up their insurance when it becomes too astronomically expensive, the price of insurance continues to spiral upward. Is that what they want?

3. The right wing position totally contradicts itself.
The wingers have always said they don't want government paying for health care at all. Their imaginary death panels would pay for most health care but sometimes refuse to pay. So if the wingers were consistent, they'd love the part about death panels refusing to pay and hate the part about death panels paying most of the time.

Its all backward. If somebody is for not paying all the time he's for death panels. If somebody is for paying at all he's a communist. I want to ask them which they are, communist of death panelist. If the right is against a bill that would provide essential health care to needy individuals, aren't they in fact one big death panel? I can never get through on talk radio though.

Thanks for posting about this. I see this enormous contradiction going on for months and for the first time I don't feel like I'm the only one who sees it.
