Can We At Least Agree
that Obama can rescue either people or insurance companies in the changes (forget reforms - they are gone) in health care? And that the choices he makes will shed some light on his true beliefs? I am most interested in comments about his comments in Montana today, where he stated he agrees with Max Baucus that there should be no Single Payer, and that insurance companies should be involved in Health Insurance Reform.

Please enlighten me? Is it possible for Obama to assist the health care industries AND make universal health care a reality?

1. Honestly, he's trying to have his cake and eat it too
He's trying to find a health care plan that

- insures everyone
- doesn't cost an arm and a leg
- provides universal care

And, here's the hard part

- Keep the insurance companies profitable and in business

Not sure how that's going to work...

2. No, I guess we can't agree. Obama can rescue people and reform
the insurance industry. If there is no single payer in this country, which there won't be for quite awhile, he will have to work with the insurance industry to make any reform meaningful. The insurance industry is a force to be reckoned with and time will tell who will win. I can tell you one thing: this first stage of reform will not be perfect but it will be better than what we have now. We need to take the first step.
