We're fighting for a progressive future in Rogers Park, West Ridge and Edgewater!

Dear Neighbors,

An article in the Chicago Tribune this morning makes it very clear what the election next week is about. Big money Republicans are trying to take over our ward, including one friend of George Bush, who gave our opponent some $60,000. Please read this important story, and join our fight to keep the 49th progressive and independent.

Sincerely,

Joe Moore

Alderman alleges Swift Boat tie in local race

In new attack ads airing on Chicago TV stations, Ald. Joe Moore (49th) criticizes the major donor to challenger Don Gordon for his ties to Republicans.

Gordon's campaign has received $60,000 from Gold Coast mutual fund manager David Herro, who, according to federal records, gave $5,000 in 2004 to Swift Boat Vets and POWs for Truth. That group funded attack ads against Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry, a Vietnam War veteran.

Moore's commercials refer to Herro as "the same Republican millionaire behind the sleazy Swift boat veterans' ads from George Bush." The 30-second spot is airing on Channels 2, 5, 7, 9 and 32, Moore said.

joe is a brave guy, a deaniac, and was recently slimed by penn and teller, who are now apparently economists, able to detect bullshit in the idea of walmart paying people a living wage, instead of offloading their responsibilities to the tax payers.

can you spare a few bucks for a top notch, grassroots dem, up against an ugly, ugly slime campaign?

2. they just did a libertarian rant
and in the end, they had women who took their shirts off, so they won? the last one looked like she had bought her boobs at walmart.

even a couple of bucks would help. imagine fighting that crap after 16 years as an absolutely exemplary alderman.
