Kill the health bill!
The goal of universal health would be a national health service like England.

But the English are "way too left" and only something like a public option is feasible.

But that's too left-wing so you have to settle for a public option.

Now that is dead. I know self-delusion can run high here on some things, but Sebelius's announcement means the public option is dead and buried.

Which means this bill is now a complete disaster. It makes the HMOs stronger than ever, and this strengthening of them will make them stronger than ever so that they can forever in the future have the power to stop any real health care reform from happening.

Now that Sebelius, meaning Obama, has declared the death of the public option, the only thing left now is to kill this bill. It is now simply a device to empower the HMOs to forever block universal health care.

1. Markos Moulitsas agrees that it is a good idea to kill this if there is no public option.

4. It is all we are going to get.
Throw this away and the RW get everything they want, and demonstrate to corporate America that they will never have to give an inch. No matter who wins elections.

7. No, keep coming back with desirable changes in piecemeal fashion.
Killing the big bill puts the opposition back to sleep. Declare victory and get out of the way.

And as Howard Dean asks, without a public option What Is It? Not reform.

Sebelius didn't say it was dead. We don't even have a bill yet. Nothing is settled, and certainly not signed.

6. If you do not kill it, you are giving the GOP full reign to end Medicare
Ending Medicare has been their goal all along.

Put every body in Insurance. Then let Medicare wither
on the vine. The Republican will in time be back in charge
and Baucus and Conrad will have laid the groundwork for them.

Changing to CO-ops puts everyone in some type of private plan.
Yes, some people have subsidy from the government. Under Republicans
they can find hundreds of reasons to cut peoples's subsidies.
In a couple of years we will have no Medicare.

I am beginning to believe this has been the plan all along
and this is why the Gang of ^Six has stammered and stalled.
and been so slow to move. What a party we belong to??
Kill the option and put in the Republican Plan so they
can end Medicare when they return to power. Yes, Republicans
will return to power. The Democrats are determined to Demoralize
the Democratic rank and file. Who will vote???

Watch Medicare Wither On the Vine. Remember when Newt promised
us this.
