I had major problems with this speech as great as it sounded...from the silver-tongued master of rhetoric.

There were some holes in his argument about why we should accept "less than half loaf" to get Health Care passed.

Much was good...but much goes against what we here on the Netroots have gone through since "Stolen Election, 2000," plus "Iraq Invasion, Torture, Military Commissions, Crooked Banks and Mutual Funds (in our 401-K's stealing our money in collusion with Wall St." and the rest.

It's a rousing stirring speach where he apologizes for much with excuses for how his Administration had to Compromise with the Repug Congress and how his "hands were tied" and how hard he tried stuff.

It still had gaps ...where he didn't mention NAFTA and DLC strategies which were as WRONG HEADED as the Freidmanomics "Supply Siders" views of both Bush Administrations back to Reagan.

It's worth a watch. I felt good to cheer him on some points...but on others he deserves no applause.

1. He also warned not to expect the public option. How many hints do we need? Stone tablets maybe?

2. That was a definite "hand clap moment." There were very good parts to that speech
but also many "compromising, apologizing" moments. So...I saw it both ways. The good and bad, maybe of his views? Much sounded like Rahm Emmanuel. But, then...I'm not DLC...so I would be seen as critical on some aspects of it.
