Who's idea was it to have these town halls? just curious, and i wish i could go to some of these...

where did this idea come from? and why are they given the value they have been granted? we were in the streets before iraq and were ignored and marginalized. a couple of people get angry on a microphone and health care is dead? fuck this.

as far as I know. It was very dramatic and should have gotten a lot of attention on TV but that just wasn't done.

It was hosted by Jim Moran and he had pentagon flak Torie Clarke and the audience was huge and they really surprised the people in charge. The people weren't being disruptive but they really challenged Clarke's b.s. and it was great.

I also remember one given by a group of neocons including Paul Bremer before anyone knew who he was, at UCLA I think and they were not expecting a lot of opposition but they really got it. People came well prepared and shot down all the neocon jazz right at the height of the "victory" fever, right around the time they pulled down that stupid Saddam statue. Again, only on C-span.
