Time for the Progessive Caucus to kill health care reform
It's becoming clearer with each passing moment and no statement from Obama himself that the public option is being thrown under the bus.

Time to just kill the damned thing now and sort it out in 2011.

1. I agree with you
And I am deeply disappointed in my party. My former party, this cave in to the nuts and the suits is the last straw for me. This country is fucked and too chickenshit to be able to acknowledge it.

4. I agree
We have stood by and watched every special interest hold this up for their personal demands while not expressing our own thoughts about how we view reform.
A central discussion of what we want to see in the end is missing.
We have far more power than we realize if we have a firm commitment to a principal.

At this point, it is Democrats in Congress that need to be sent a message.

7. How do you kill something that doesn't exist?
Do you mind if I take a peek at it before I work to destroy it?

8. IF, when it comes out of committee, there is no strong public option in it,
THEN will be the time to kill it.

Let's not be hasty. They'd LOVE to have the progressive caucus to blame for the failure of health reform.

10. How "progressive" of you.
Let's just let more and more people keep losing coverage, suffering and dying because they can't receive care, and losing everything they have to try to get the care they need.

I call BS.

Any person who advocates something like this is no progressive.

12. For once repubs and insurance companies can team up with progressives to kill
something. Of course, the former will think they are killing it for another 15 years, while we hope that it can be improved and revived in a couple of years (when Obama and the Democrats in Congress are stronger?). Clinton didn't revisit HCR after he his nose was bloodied in 1994. Perhaps Obama would be willing to do so, but I wouldn't be too sure of it.
