What do you remember about the "free speech" zones?
Why do you think the protesters against Obama were not put in a fenced area 3 or 4 blocks away, especially those that are carrying guns? Does anyone recall that type of threat against Bush? And what would happen if they tried to put these folks in another area called a "free speech" zone?

1. That is a very good point. Why aren't they in restricted zones?

2. The media avoided mentioning the "free speech zones." I recall
speaking with a friend who worked in a tv newsroom about protestors being herded into these areas, and he didn't know what I was talking about. If the current admin. tried that stunt the collective howl from the media would break eardrums. It would be the 24/7 topic of conversation and the rw would come even more unglued - if that's even possible.

If anybody with a gun had been caught within a mile of the chimp, that person would have been the subject of intense media scrutiny and then finally disappeared to Gitmo.

3. was forced into them many times !
and then there was the RNC in St. Paul.

I think we should all down load "Terrorizing Dissent" and show them what "Free Speech" was like under Bush Administration. It is free

there was a little stand for Free Speech. You can to sign up and register.. it was over 100 miles from the door of the Xcel Center.. and behind 2 huge Black fences. so much for free speech.

4. Two 15 yr old girls dressed as trees were arrested per "free speech zones"
In a nearby town back in 04. They were arrested for standing on the wrong side of a very busy street that was over a block away from the Bushco rally.

7. I remember that the were very popular on college campuses where Bush would never dare to go
and were found to be an abridgment of student rights, as they should have been. Still drives college administrators nuts.
