Das kann nicht hier passieren. (RW email) Unbelievable BS.
(That's German. it means "It can't happen here". Just what thousands of German folks said about the looming threat of the NAZI movement in the 1930s)

:puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

Every one needs to forward this to everyone you know and ask them to forward.. We have to stop Obama in the 2010 election

MOST OF ALL OF THIS HAS ALREADY HAPPENED.

What would you say if I gave you 11 reasons why the elections in 2010

will be the most important in the history of the United States ?

1. What if I had told you in October 2008, before the last presidential election,

that before Barack Obama's first 100 days in office, the federal government would

be in control of both the mortgage and the banking industries?

That 19 of America 's largest banks would be forced to undergo stress tests by

the federal government which would determine if they were insufficiently capitalized,

so they must be supervised by the government?

Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America ."

2. What if I had told you that within Barack Obama's first 100 days in office the

federal government would be the largest shareholder in the US Big-Three

automakers: GM, and Chrysler? That the government would kick out the CEO's

of these companies and appoint hand-picked executives with zero experience

in the auto industry and that executive compensation would be determined,

not by a Board of Directors, but by the government?

Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"

3. What if I had told you that Barack Obama would appoint 32

Czars, without congressional approval, accountable only to him, not to the voters,

who would have control over a wide range of US policy decisions.

That there would be a Stimulus Accountability Czar, an Urban Czar,

a Compensation Czar, an Iran Czar, an Auto Industry Czar, a Cyber Security Czar,

an Energy Czar, a Bank Bailout Czar, and more than a dozen other

government bureaucrats with unchecked regulatory powers over US

domestic and foreign policy.

Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"

4. What if I had told you that the federal deficit would be $915 billion in the first six months of the Obama presidency - with a projected annual deficit of

$1.75 trillion - triple the $454.8 billion in 2008, for which the previous administration

was highly criticized by Obama and his fellow Democrats. That congress would

pass Obama's $3.53 trillion federal budget for fiscal 2010... That the projected

deficit over the next ten years would be greater than $10 trillion.

Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"

5.. What if I had told you that the Obama Justice Department would order FBI

agents to read Miranda rights to high-value detainees captured on the battlefield

and held at US military detention facilities in Afghanistan . That Obama would order

the closing of the Guantanamo detention facility with no plan for the disposition

of the 200-plus individuals held there. That several of the suspected terrorists

at Guantanamo would be sent to live in freedom in Bermuda at the expense

of the US government. That our returning US veterans would be labeled

terrorists and put on a watch list.

Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"

6. What if I had told you that the federal government would seek powers to seize

key companies whose failures could jeopardize the financial system. That a

new regulatory agency would be proposed by Obama to control loans,

credit cards, mortgage-backed securities, and other financial products offered

to the public.

Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!"

7. What if I had told you that Obama would travel to the Middle East, bow

before the Saudi king, and repeatedly apologize for America 's past actions.

That he would travel to Latin America where he would warmly greet

Venezuela 's strongman Hugo Chavez and sit passively in the audience

while Nicaraguan Marxist thug Daniel Ortega charged America with terrorist

aggression in Central America .
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!"

8. Okay, now what if I were to tell you that Obama wants to dismantle

conservative talk radio through the imposition of a new "Fairness Doctrine."

That he wants to curtail the First Amendment rights of those who may

disagree with his policies via internet blogs, cable news networks, or advocacy

ads. That most major network television and most newspapers will only sing

his phrases like state-run media in communist countries?

Would you say, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!!"

9. What if I were to tell you that the Obama Justice Department is doing everything

it can to limit your Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms. That the

federal government wants to reinstate the so-called assault weapons ban which

would prohibit the sale of any type of firearm that doesn't require the shooter to

pull the trigger every time a round is fired. That Obama's Attorney General

wants to eliminate the sale of virtually all handguns and ammunition, which most

citizens choose for self-defense.

Would you say, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!!"

10. What if I were to tell you that the Obama plan is to eliminate states rights

guaranteed by the Tenth Amendment and give the federal government sweeping

new powers over policies currently under the province of local and state

governments and voted on by the people. That Obama plans to control the

schools, energy production, the environment, health care, and the wealth

of every US citizen.
Would you say, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"

11.. What if I were to tell you that the president, the courts, and the federal

government have ignored the US Constitution and have seized powers

which the founders of our country fought to restrict. That our last presidential

election may have been our last truly free election for some time to come.

I know, I know what you will say. "That will never happen in America !"

If we don't do everything in our power to stop this madness in 2010...

May God have mercy on our worthless souls.

Pass this on to every freedom loving American you can.

Thank you.

7. My replyAll..
What if I told you that lack of Government regulation during the 8-year fiasco of the Bush Administration led to a near collapse of the banking industry, the insurance industry and the economy itself, and that Obama is stuck with fixing it?

What if I told you we spent a trillion of your tax dollars on a false war in Iraq? According to Hermann Goering "Naturally the common people don't want war. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. People can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

What if I told you that George Bush’s Patriot Act represented (and still represents) the single biggest restriction of the rights of individuals in the history of our Democracy? They spied on us, monitored our bank accounts and our computer use and listened to our phone conversations…just like the KGB.

What if I told you the ReichWing will always rely on half-truths when the whole truth just won’t do?

I could've gone on, but I wouldn't know how to stop...

5. At least they believe that Obama has taken dramatic action. Too many DU posters accuse Obama
of doing nothing to live up to any of his promises. It's nice to see that the RW kooks are bent out of shape by all that Obama has done, even though our own complainers find nothing good in anything that he has done. :)

13. Wow... gun ignorance exists on the right, too
That the

federal government wants to reinstate the so-called assault weapons ban which

would prohibit the sale of any type of firearm that doesn't require the shooter to

pull the trigger every time a round is fired.

Actually the law banning weapons that fire more than one shot per trigger squeeze dates back to the 1930's and has never faced any significant opposition. The 1994 assault weapons ban prevented the manufacture or sale of firearms with such "dangerous" features as bayonet lugs or grips that protrude from the body of the rifle (which, incidentally, are much much safer than traditional hunting-rifle-style grips).

It astounds me how little people on both sides of this debate actually know about the law. Sigh...

15. Yeah, Didn't Obama make it clear that he has no intention to pass a new AWB?
Edited on Mon Aug-17-09 12:52 PM by TheMightyFavog
And Holder echoed his opinion.

Good idea. The '94 AWB is the big reason the Pugs came to power in '94.

17. RW accusations are not just to tar the accused, but to preempt LW criticisms that go along the same
lines: thus, "moderates" (the less-informed) can say "you're just saying that" when we liken secret camps and arrests to fascism--because the RW has made the same accusation about Fannie Mae. the deluge of attacks also casts suspicion on LW criticisms of Dem officials: it makes it easier for listeners to "turn off" when we accuse * of seizing power and shredding the Constitution: "that's what they all say," thinking that such accusation are "politics as usual" with nothing behind them. this sort of well-poisoning took place in the Cold War: the RW was getting hit by Watergate and CIA atrocities, so they invented their own "whistleblowers" against those real whistleblowers, and we got Mitrokhin "confirming" that the almighty Kremlin was behind criticisms of Hoover and McCarthy and the nuclear disarmament movement, and Reed Irvine saying that El Mozote never happened.
a lot of this false equivalency comes from the idea of "fair play": both "sides" of an issue must be presented on TV, to prevent "censorship." this creates the impression that both sides have the same value--or are even interchangeable (how many times have we heard the chestnut that the far left and right are really the same? or that "green wackos" are as honest as a PR flack). remember, it's not really the wingnuts whipped up by Hal Turner, Ralph Reed, and * rallies that were the key to the Bush regime, but the moderates who did his bidding on everything but the Culture-War issues: they're Blairites, using their records on abortion and race to browbeat us when we complain after they vote for war, indefinite detention, torturer pardons, Indonesian deforestation, etc. this Blairism has extended to the War on Islam, with Islamophobia being concocted on "liberal" rationales: they're uncivilized, sexist, theocratic, totalitarian, worse hillbillies than Deliverance's, etc.: Hirsi Ali, Hitchens, Fallaci, Bernard-Henri Levy, blind Israel boosters see themselves as liberal (even though they sound just like Raspail, Le Pen, or Nick Griffin)
RW policies are pushed through by both the right and the moderates, and the kingmakers use different approaches to them. this is similar to how PhRMA uses both doctors and Palinoid Creationists living in an ocean of fundie misinfo, or how the chemical industries use both people in white coats extolling the unquestionable authority of Science AND global-warming deniers.
