"Public option is a dirty word.."
Edited on Mon Aug-17-09 11:29 AM by kentuck
Dr Nancy on MSNBC just said that to Dr. Howard Dean. To his credit, the Good Doctor said, "No, it isn't!" This is a perfect example of what we are fighting in the media. They stand behind the insurance companies and their right to rob us blind, take our savings, and force us into bankruptcy, if we get sick? Those are the types of immoral individuals we are up against.

14. She just gave a very strong statement about there NOT being death panels...
...in any legislation ~ saying that it would strengthen our ability to make our own choices.

She has also said many times that we need a strong public option.

How does that add up to shilling for corps?

15. If you start out demanding a strong public option, when the compromises are
done you have a WEAK public option, or none at all.

START with a demand for single-payer, and let the strong public option be the compromise position.

Doesn't ANYBODY know how to negotiate anymore?

17. That's what I've been saying from the beginning...
Dems showed their cards so early they had nothing to negotiate.

11. Prior to there were mainstream polls showing 72/76% in favor of ...
So despite the ugliness of the THs, it's unlikely that many would suddenly do an about-face on the subject.
