1. My favorite...
...is the balloon with the words "Your birth is a pre-existing condition!"

Pretty much sums it up right there.

4. What's the last one in there for?
Just to show the other side?
We need single-payer. The only way to get the greed out of health care is to get the corporations out of it. Single payer is the ONLY way that this is going to happen.

5. I put it in there because I HOPE it is a "slippery slope"
I realize the toon artist wanted to make it seem like a bad thing, but I think it is a very good thing. Maybe just me interpreting it that way.

8. Our version of it would be a mountain with Single Payer at the top. Not sure what would replace
"slippery slope". Maybe, "Grueling Climb", but it's not a catchy phrase.

14. You may see it as a glass half full, but I see it as...
...a glass that's twice as big as it needs to be.

19. that's called being negative vs being positive.
My post was a sarcastic (as bad as it might have been) statement about taking a negative and making it a positive.

15. Exactly! Pass some meaningful reform that WORKS, and the next needed reform won't be so hard.

I think this is the way Obama is playing it -- "salami tactics", taking a slice at a time (OK, they're pretty big slices) -- and recognizing that every slice the Repugs lose is going to be next to impossible for them to win back.

To borrow "Yes, Prime Minister" terminology, it's the 'thin end of the wedge' -- the end that gets things started.

PS: Thanx for the regular toons, n2doc!
