Has Gore weighed in on the healthcare issue?
I can't seem to find anything; wondered if I had missed it. I'd like to know how he'd approach this.

2. He said health care was a right - advocates for single-payer/universal plan
Here's what he recorded Oct 14, 2007 and posted at current.com

4. He does not seem to have weighed in on the debate at all ... except
for putting his name to this DSCC fundraising letter for the Senate Democrats in June:

What Gore said in 2000 or even 2007 is immaterial (and to my recollection, he has never advocated for a single-payer system during any of his election campaigns; Bill Bradley tried to excoriate him for his health-care stands). He really hasn't said anything about the particular bills wending their way through Congress now. I'm not saying he should, but he hasn't.

9. What about the church?
Edited on Mon Aug-17-09 05:45 PM by Incitatus
They don't hesitate when it comes to the death penalty or gay marriage. Shouldn't the church be vocally supporting health care for everyone?

Mathew 25:45

'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'

10. What church are you talking about? There's not just one church.
The UCC church issued a statement calling health care a basic human right and supporting health care for all, as in HR 676.

12. It's good to see there is some support from the religious community.
However, there isn't near as much support for health care reform from religious organizations as there is for other issues. This is a pretty big issue. It's just sad that more people don't practice what they preach.

13. The UCC generally comes in on the side ....
... of basic human rights/social justice. I'm not very inclined toward religion but, this is a group I can generally agree with.

14. It does. I researched denominations before joining a UCC church.
