I really believe the core of the Republican party is racism.

My SIL is a FoxNews blaring, Neal Boortz listening asshat. In her 60s, she grew up in a segrated Richmond, Va where to this day there are people still fighting the Civil War. Where did she get this hatred for African Americans? From her mother who was also a racist. Thankfully her other daughter, my wife did not inherit any of that. But, my SIL, she tries to hide behind the flag and patriotism but her racist attitude is seething. And let's not forget that todays Republican party is largly composed of the Southern Democrats who jumped ship when LBJ started really ramping up the civil rights issue in the 1960s
