2. I think they oughta put the thing in Baghdad....after all, Monkeyboy wants to make it the 51st state
Of course, once Iraq breaks up, they'll have to rename it--something jazzy, like, say, Oildonia!!

He can put his library over there, and maybe Rummy's same guy running out of the museum with the vase will go loot that place, too!!! Freedom's untidy, doncha know!!!

Doonesbury is wonderful!

5. I still can't get over the irony....
of a 'Bush Library'. One of the dumbest creatures on the face of the planet wants to honor himself with a depository of knowledge. If that's not irony I don't know what is.
And to add insult to injury, no one wants to host the damned thing! I think the lobby at Halliburton world headquarters would be the only proper place for such an august institution.

7. Our local paper
just started running Doonesbury again after about a 15 year hiatus. Seems a few years ago, "Joe Butts" was the story line and RJR was taking huge hits for too long and the local paper stopped running Doonesbury. SO for the past 9-10 years I've been reading Doonesbury on-line. Now I can actually read it in our local paper again. Happy Days!!!

9. Our local rag runs the Sunday Doonesbury without the first two frames.
They do it every week. I end up reading it online anyway.

11. I understand a lot of papers do that
Bill Waterson explained in one of his Calvin and Hobbes books that the format is not universal. That's why the first two frames often had to be wasted on a "throw-away" joke.

15. At that rate
At a rate of $500 million for the Bush Library, that comes out to $250 million per book. And he hasn't even finished coloring one of them.
