Birthers, Deathers, Tea Baggers... and now...
Vacationers???

Apparently, given the feedback to a photo set of Obama visiting the Grand Canyon, after the visit to Yellowstone, a number of conservative bloggers are complaining about the money and time President Obama is spending on vacation.

No amount of actual facts (like he is taking short, one day or less side trips) dissuade them from their complaints.

"Have I told you lately how much I hate these people!!!"

1. They had no problem with Bush vacationing every month...
He was on vacation literally 40% of his term, figuratively about 95% of the time.

3. And the publicity given to state parks like the Grand Canyon means increased revenues
Why can't a conservative at least pretend to have some core values?

The Vacation President

-snip-

President Bush famously, if unjustifiably, casts himself as Ronald Reagan's disciple. But in at least one way, he has surpassed his master.

According to the meticulous records kept by CBS Radio White House correspondent Mark Knoller, Bush on Monday lodged his 879th day spent in whole or in part at Camp David or his sprawling estate in Crawford, Tex.

By comparison, the 40th president only -- only! -- spent all or part of 866 days at Camp David or his ranch in California during his eight years in office, according to the Reagan Library. (By my count, Bush actually beat Reagan's mark on Dec. 30, during his Christmas vacation in Crawford.)

6. Oh, for dog's sake!
The man is taking his kids to see the Grand Canyon, not holing up at his secret ranch for weeks at a time!

10. Welcome to DU.
I hope you have some fun here.

And, yeah, he is taking side trips on a "working vacation" and showing his kids what EVERY kid in America should see. Our land of natural beauty and wonder, preserved by our ancestors, hopefully to be passed on to the next generation.

9. It's not worth the calories I would spend on typing on my keyboard.
They will complain and whine no matter WHAT President Obama does. This one will not resonate with the only group that we care about... independents and reasonable Republicans that might vote for our people.

In fact, let them complain and whine... they look stupid and petty doing so.

8. Maybe they need to read this from 1/16/09:
487 Days At Camp David For Bush

George W. Bush is today making his final visit to Camp David as president.

He will likely miss the place: According to CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller, today's trip marks Mr. Bush's 149th visit to the presidential retreat. The planned three-day stay, during which the president is being joined by family and former and current aides, will bring his total time spent at Camp David to all or part of 487 days.

Yes, that's 487 days. And Camp David is not even where the president has spent the most time when not at the White House: Knoller reports that Mr. Bush has made 77 visits to his ranch in Crawford during his presidency, and spent all or part of 490 days there.

http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2009/01/16/politics/politicalhotsheet/entry4728085.shtml

That's more that 2 1/2 years total vacation time at just those two locations during the 8 years he was in office.

11. And I remember fishing trips to Florida and
down time in Kennebunkport as well. And other "vacation" trips like the stop over to share birthday cake with McCain in Arizona... all while New Orleans was drowning.
