The REAL RW Problem With Public Option Health Insurance
They know full well that the Ds will have no problem at all administering such a system, even saving money in the process.

They also know that as soon as an R next gains the WH, or if and when the Rs get a majority in either house, that the Rs will totally FUCK UP running the system, just like they do everything else.

That's what they do.

And, true to form, they're trying to fuck things up right now with the little bit of leverage they still have.

1. Also
All the single payer advocates will flock to the public option. We trust Obama more then the for profit providers. Private insurance can't compete.

2. The only leverage they have is the leverage given to them
when big media hands them the microphone...which is all of the time.

3. I think they fear the Roosevelt factor.
If Democrats do this health care thing right, Republicans will be shut out of running the government for decades. They'll be remembered as the people who were against something that turned out to be GOOD, as those who worked against ordinary Americans. It'll take a long time to shed that image.

4. They can't have the public see "the government" do something right. They....
must always fight against proof that government works and that their ideology is utterly bankrupt.

7. I can't think of a GOOD reason for a Dem to be against a public option.
Why not inform us all as to what you don't like about it?
