Just Came from my GP - he supports single payer!
I have a sinus infection, so I went to my doctor. (Yes, I do irrigate my sinuses, but in this case it didn't help...) Anyhoo, on his bulletin board were multiple printouts from a group called the Patient's Action Network. Looks like it's a front group for the AMA. He also had printouts about how other industrialized countries handle health care, including support for single payer.

So, don't believe the bullshit about doctors not wanting the single payer or public option. They DO. At least mine does!

1. My dad was a doctor in the good 'ol days,
and I often think of how he would react to an insurance company telling him his patient wasn't covered for a procedure he deemed necessary. He'd go ballistic.

I'm guessing most physicians are majorly frustrated and have had it up to HERE with the insurance carriers calling the shots on how they treat their patients.

2. I had to take my mother to 2 different doctors last week,
a GP and an Internist. Both want a single payer plan.

3. Most Primary care physicians are behind HC reform. It's the specialists who feel
their exorbitant incomes are threatened who are against it.
