I was just discussing this with my husband who has 30 years of insurance underwriting under his belt. He tells me he could write a program that would end up being a public option and the insurance companies would want it to exist.

We're calling our Congressman (Pallone) and Senator Menendez (Finance Committee) tomorrow morning. Already tried - office is closed - voice mail is full.

I'll let you know if anything comes of it.

???

can't imagine any ins. co. would want any type of public option to exist--regardless of what it is called.

4. So it would it take all the high risk people off the private insurers hands...
and leave the private insurers to rake in record profits from the low-risk people?

That's the only thing i can think of that the private insurers would accept.

10. It's far more complicated than that...
...and has the ability to tip the first domino to a public option.

17. No. A lot of the criticism of the bill is that it has hidden items.
A public option is nothing to be ashamed of.
