Intteresting Twitter War Right Now

Really, really silly juvenile thing to do, but I got caught up in watching the war over on twitter. To counter the RW #iamthemob, some libs evidently started a new hashtag #iamagrownup, mostly about health care reform. Then the freepers invaded the lib hashtag, and all hell is breaking loose. If you are terribly bored on a big Monday night, come over and help out.

STUPID! (you say condescendingly???) No more stupid than arguing about Woodstock for 3 days. Woodstock? Really?

3. Going Facebook is going Further than Twittering, IMO.

Facebook is a nuisance with it's bells and whistles, while twitter is pretty tame by comparison, just realtime posts on different feeds.

PLUS: you can read and search tweets without becoming a member!

7. I don't get that hashtag thing.

I've never used Twitter but I heard about this hashtag thing before and don't understand it. Isn't it just asking for this kind of abuse? Can anybody just ad #whatever to any twitter and anybody that's following that tag sees it? That sounds utterly useless!

9. I'm not sure myself about the difference between using a # and a @ symbol

But I think that whenever you use a # in a post, like #nycskp #demund and #CNNfail, your tweet will be added to each feed.

As to the @ symbol, I am unsure, but I think it goes to that poster, ie @nycskp would come to me.

And experienced Twits out there?
