No Government Option = Obama's Waterloo
Health Insurance cost will SKY-ROCKET because of all the other reforms being proposed.

The Health insurance Industry - "unchecked", is going to make up those profits 1 way or the other, and that will mean increased cost for those of us that already have Health Insurance.

This would spell disaster for the ENTIRE Democratic Party. The RATpubliCONs would retake the House and Senate in short order and Mr Obama most certainly would be strictly a 1 term president

Actually - the Lack of a Government Option Plan is a Poison Pill - and the Blue Dogs know it

1. No government option should = no option period
Obama shouldn't sign any old fucking bill that happens to come along. If we can't get single payer or a public option, it's time to quit and wait for a better day.

2. Wasn't that a Republican talking point?
Not trying to impute motives to you, but do you realize that this meme was put out by Republicans about a week ago -- that they would make health care "Obama's Waterloo"?

3. And why do they do that, because they are scared to see a bill with a public option.
They are trying to get Democrats to back down.

If the Republicans have to vote against the public option, they will be in far more trouble then they want.

5. I fear that the insurance and pharma corps will exact some sort of retribution
Edited on Tue Aug-18-09 09:55 AM by Javaman
if the government option fails. They will basically "teach us a lesson" for trying to upset their apple cart.

They will give some half assed excuse, but it will directly translate into, "Suck It! We are in charge, we have always been in charge and we control the future, so shut the fuck up, be good little prols and pay up".

it will be then and only then that it will dawn on the right wing morons who protested against this bill that they have been had. But as always there will be the willingly ignorant sycophants that will continue to give fellatio to the insurance corps for lobbying money.
