was a wonderful experience. Very moving and inspiring and also just plain sad. I went two times, once to the original ditch site with Proud and Dancing Bear and then again with my husband and Dancing Bear and his wife. We must have been there around the same time since we too got home on the eve of Katrina. Met Uppity there too and several others who are no longer here, Dancing Bear being one and Brainshrub, whatever happened to Brainshrub?

Missed Woodstock. Parents and job and no car and no money (needed it for college). My boyfriend and his pals went, I endlessly listened to the reports when they got home. I was pretty jealous.

And here we are 4 years later with a new Prezzydent and ...

I did get to meet and hear Joan Baez and I met Medea Benjamin. That was pretty cool. Steve Earle, that would have been cool.

I may be "too young" for woodstock. However, anyone I know who went, including both my in-laws, viewed it as nothing more than a party. The musical acts certainly had politics at heart and so too did many in the crowd. However, this Woodstock as a political game changer is overblown.

It's the forerunner to thousands of other huge festivals. Nothing more IMO. So I thank them for my ability to enjoy large festivals without the "fuzz" gettin' too nervous about so many drunks in one place.

My father in-law's "Camp Casey" was the Chicago Democratic Convention. That had a bigger impact on his political ideals than Woodstock ever did. At woodstock he gained access to LSD. In Chicago, he learned what freedom meant. That's his personal story anyway. Funny thing is, most of the people he went to Woodstock with are now Republicans.

That's awesome that you were able to experience that important moment in history. Thank you for being there for us all.

I got a brazzillion of those.

and I'm grateful for the experience.

At least people inspired at Camp Casey are still helping GIs resist the war. Meanwhile Woodstock inspires knockoffs of Woodstock.
