Can we get 1,000,000? Seems like time we put some #s in the streets.

Demand a public option & work on a single payer system. Why T.F. should insurance
companies get a cut on every dollar spent on health care in the country?

1. Excellent idea -- Is anyone organizing this?
The SEIU bus trip to DC in June wasn't much of a success from what I was told by someone who actually attended. She said it was poorly organized and didn't even make the news.

3. You could have a million attend and there's still a good chance it wouldn't make the news

In the newspapers the pictures will be small and tight of the sparsest area and will show the silliest sign, the talking heads will reluctantly refer to "thousands" instead of "hundreds of thousands".

Altho, that was the way of covering protests, perhaps with all their coverage of tea-baggers and the like they have unknowingly set new standards for themselves - ha! That would be one good unintended consequence of recent events.

11. That too.
If you can't make the rally in DC, observe a general strike.
And maybe go to your state capital.

7. How about this...
A group who call themselves MadAsHell Doctors are members of Physicians for a National Health Plan from Oregon who will start a Care A Van trip cross country all the way to D.C. with stops in 20 cities along the way. They're demanding that profit be taken out of health care and in support of HR676, universal health.

8. Yeah, like it did any good regarding the anti-Iraq war protests. Wish it would work,
but it will just get ignored like everything else that doesn't help MSM retain their sponsors.

10. i disagree. When was the last time liberals did something like this for something besides war?
We need to be patriotic about something other than war.

9. I'm there...
And anywhere else I can be to make a statement that there is no Health Care reform without a public option.

15. I hate calling anything thing "Million People
Because if you fall even 1 person short all the networks will cover is how we fell flat on acheiving a million people and very little on the cause itself.

Depending on finances I could be there - it should be interesting.

16. Teh Beckerheads are here (in DC) on 9/12.
As long as Glenn Beck doesn't lose his job and the ability to organize from his bully pulpit between now and then.

I'm not even sure they know what they're coming for, aside from a chance to scream out their irrational frustration and anger.
