Especially those that would vote against a public option and meaningful healthcare reform? Or should we just let bygones be bygones and vote for them again in the next election? Or should we actively campaign against them? Would you be ready to sacrifice a few of these Democrats even if it meant losing the majority? Would it be worth it?
1. The only real way to light a fire under their ass is to run primary challengers.
Ned Lamont is a good example of an insurgent campaign in one respect, but he failed to unseat Joe Lieberman. Lieberman, to his credit, took off his mask and revealed himself as a craven power-hungry buffoon.
Just get them out, by posing a different, hopefully better candidate in a primary runoff, or are the political bosses that well paid off that there can be none.
4. If one was in my state I would let them know they no longer had my support
In all ways. I would not contribute to them nor vote for them. If that means a Republican would win that seat, at least I would know the enemy and not be subject to a stab in the back. I have only one Representative and he is as right wing as they come. One of my US Senators though is borderline Blue Dog but I doubt he will withhold his vote on the Health Care bill.
