So, okay, some people who support the public option or single payer are not going to go to a town hall or or other Congresscritter meeting if they think there's going to be chaos or even possibly violence.

So, get out your pens or computers and WRITE a LETTER to your Congresscritter. Say exactly that, you support single payer and/or the public option, but you aren't going to go to a townhall and get roughed up, so you are writing to let him/her know your position on health care. And by the way, that you are a registered voter. Include your name address.

I think writing is more effective than actual email, because it takes more work, and presumably they actually open their postal mail.

This is something everyone can do, and it does an END RUN around the freepers who are, no doubt, hoping to discourage health care supporters from turning up at these meetings.

1. Actually, regular mail is a problem
If you don't want to email, send a fax. Since the anthrax scare years ago, regular mail is slowed down because it has to be checked. I have started sending postcards because envelopes aren't in the picture.

4. Fax is best, or snail mail to your local rep's district office.

Delay on snail mail to a DC office is one-to-three weeks, with two months not unheard of.
