I know mine gets jumped around sometimes, but eventually, it works.

Try closing down DU and then opening it again.....................

You know how you have to choose between the gif & jpg radio buttons to match the format of the pic you uploaded? Does your new avatar pic format match the radio button that's selected? I sometimes switch between jpg and gif and sometimes forget to change the selection.
