I really wish MSNBC would stop running these bullshit AHIP ads.
"If everyone's covered"..... "Working for bipartisan solutions"....

BULLSHIT. :grr:

There is no acceptable SOLUTION that involves this country being held hostage by insurance corporation criminals.

"If everyone's covered" (i.e. Massachusetts) is nothing but a convenient excuse to NEVER have real reform. And it cannot be allowed to stand.

1. But mandates are magic! Just ask some of the people right here on DU who support them.
Sure, they'll agree that the proposed plan is bullshit but they'll still say that everyone must participate.

2. Everyone must participate like they do in streets, roads and highways.
A public amenity which does not differentiate which routes you use in living your daily life.

9. Streets, roads and highways are maintained by the state and/or federal government.

As they should be (along with healthcare) as part of the national infrastructure.

Would you prefer the Halliburton owned "Dick Cheney Freeway"?

11. Yes! Healthcare is an amenity which should be as ubiquitous as streets, roads and highways.

Tollroads are available too, for those who want to pay specifically to use them.

12. No matter how much you scrunch up your eyes and pretend
A semi-subsidized mandate to buy private insurance is not and will never be the same as a government sponsored single payer system.

7. My suspicion is that you can suck it.
Yeah, I know the pizza was already delivered, but I just had to throw that in.

10. They get more and more subtle, don't they?
Oh, and it's "teat." Why is it that none of them can spell?

Oh, BTW school starts soon. You should prepare for the new year and put away the "puter" for a while.

8. Hear, hear.
Forcing people to buy insurance is no more the solution to a failed health care system than forcing people to buy houses is the solution to homelessness.
