44. That doesn't even make sense.
You're just going to have to sit with the idea that there are members in Congress whose @ss isn't owned by anyone yet. And when they speak up, it's not taking air away from the owned. As American citizens, they are entitled to free speech and press and everything.

And when these hippies speak up, some of us will cheer them for going off message -- if that is possible given that the "message" has been scrambled for weeks now.

75. No, I think you realize the statement was idiotic and are trying to spin the e-mail as support. This
Removing the "public option" from a public bill paid for by public money is not in the public interest. What is left is a "private option" paid for with public money. Why should public money be spent on a private option which does not guarantee 100% coverage nor have any cost controls? A true public option would provide 30% savings immediately which would then cover the 1/3rd of the population who presently have no health care.

Unfortunately, under HR3200, the Government is choosing winners and losers in the private sector; proposing to spend public funds on subsidizing insurance companies who make money not providing health care. This process will insure only the expansion of profits. Gone is the debate over cost.

As a result of current negotiations, the Medicare Part D rip-off will continue for another decade, further fleecing senior citizens. Drug importation has been dropped, so no inexpensive drugs can be accessed from other nations.

The public option has not been removed, and claiming that the bill will continue a rip-off is not support.

Clueless.

The letter simply informs Sebellius that after the Senate removes the public option, the joint resolution will have insufficient support in the House to pass.

81. clueless is what your whole freaking concept of Dennis' character and health care reform, is.
what is it - about him standing up for his principles - that annoys you? doesn't reach your minimum height criteria? his wife too pretty? or too tall? maybe it's the impersonal hatred of the carnivore for the vegetarian? or maybe that's just me projecting as a vegan.

what d'you want the guy to do? bargain down to a useless piece of legislative crap that betrays his constituents & then lie to the public about how he feels it is a reasonable compromise?

flavor-of-all-time sell outs is what you clowns are.

Kucinich: SCHIP Bill Fails To Provide Health Coverage For Legal Immigrant Children

“I cannot support legislation which extends health coverage to some children while openly denying it to other children,” Kucinich said. “This legislation is woefully inadequate: and I will not support it.

10/07 Kucinich Votes To Override SCHIP Veto

“I voted to override the President’s veto. In the previous SCHIP vote, the Democrats left out up to 600,000 children of immigrants, so I voted against the bill. The President left out all children, so of course I voted to override,” Kucinich said.

With a huge Democratic majority and a chance to push for more, Kucinich quietly voted for SCHIP: Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009.

Grandstanding is not being principled.
