My parents were Republicans.
Edited on Wed Aug-19-09 08:45 PM by Joanne98
They loved Nixon and Reagan. My dad listened to Rush. And I can tell you that when they lied to people about political issues they laughed about it later.

I know because I saw them do it hundreds of times.

My dad used to listen to Rush and say "What a liar" HA HA!

These people at the rallies are PRETENDING they're stoopid. They're just jerking us around.

If we want to win fights with the right, we have to stop believing their bull shit and learn how to hurt them.

Talking with them is a waste of time. It's nothing but a game to them.

I'll tell you what they care about, getting fired from their jobs for being racist terrorists.

We should call them STOOPID millions of times until they have to prove they're not stoopid which will prove they're LIARS. After we prove they're LIARS we can then move on to MORALS.

LIARS do not have any moral values. Satan and Hitler were liars too.

Do NOT take any shit from them it just encourages more intimidation.

Stand up to them ALL THE TIME. NEVER believe anything they say.

STOOPID LIAR IMMORAL CRIMINAL EVIL

That's the plan that will work!

PS.. Rachel Maddow is kicking ass!

5. My parents are diehard conservatives who love Rush and Beck.
However, I think they are true believers. Many are.

16. I did a long time ago...trust me, they really believe in it. We have been fighting over politics
for 15 years, since I was 17 and supported Clinton in the '92 election. Some people are just gullible. The masters (Beck, Rush, etc.) are liars and some can see that. But nope, my parents sadly believe it all.

22. LOL. Yes, that is true. Probably lied to themselves for so long they are in denial.
What is sad is they are nice people and not mean and ugly toward others with their personalities. They even let my brother's best friend live with us when his parents kicked him out at 18. He was sleeping on our lawn and had no where to go.

I think they were told by Reagan that low taxes and less govt. was great (although less govt. was essentially a lie and it was just more govt. for the military) and think they still believe in it. Denial is correct.

8. So were mine
They both hated bankers & when the city sold the publicly-owned & operated hospital to a private company, my mom started spitting nails. I'm sure several city leaders still have the imprint of her foot on their asses...that's how hard she fought to keep for-profit health care out of her community.

15. No, my mother was definitely against private companies
taking over hospitals & health care. In her words "They're going to care more about making money than curing people." This was 30 years ago.

11. Nice, but false, premise. Most of these people are just plain stupid...
I've spoken to them. They do believe the bullshit.

And even if they didn't, they are still stupid for following lies.

You know. It's possible to be stoopid AND a liar. Sarah Palin comes to mind.

20. Some are truly stupid but I found a good way to call them on it.
I started to try and bet them money. Real money. They back out. They say..."well, we'll never find out because wer'e gonna stop you." I then refer to the time before and the time before that they said X and Y happened.

One of these days I will talk these rubes into making me rich.

24. I agree, at least some of them are as you describe.
My father thinks it's perfectly acceptable and indeed admirable to lie in order to advance a political agenda. He enthusiastically helps to spread such lies. No lie is too outrageous or ridiculous for him to cheer on; the only thing that counts is that it works.

The technique can be observed on FR or any other conservative board. They practice on each other.
