It's bullshit and it's a smokescreen. Tiabbi let lose a string of statistics to let her know the "Best health care in the world" myth is exactly that; a myth. But she'd have none of it. It's clear to me that people like Maria Bartolomo aren't interesting in anything but protecting advertisers on their network and/or protecting their investment in insurance stocks. She literally can give no coherent argument against a public option, only that "American has the best health care system in the world!" Sure it does...IF you already have lots of money, and IF you already have comprehensive health care insurance. We could have health care delivered by angels in shiny castles in the clouds, but if you don't have access to it, you might as well just rely on leeches and home bloodlettings.

These people just don't get it. Or a more scary scenario? They DO get it. They just don't want US to.

Someone on DU mentioned a couple of weeks ago that she looked like she had just come in from overnight on the streets to do Morning Joke, so I paid attention to her this morning. I hadn't too much before. She may not have come in off the streets but she is a corporate whore. Throughly disgusting comments from that woman; I wish Matt Taibbi had come back to her when she was complaining about other countries government-run health care systems denying needed medications. What does this idiot think that our lovely insurance companies do? They deny procedures, medications, and coverage on a regular basis. How can we win this when these nut cases only care about their money shill for the system and we still don't have good coverage for everyone.
