My question for today's OFA Presidential forum
Mister President,
It has become increasingly clear that the American people want a public option, and even clearer that the fear-mongering opposition to Health Care Reform is bought and paid for by the insurance companies. Are you now willing to stand with the people against corporate profiteering and say straight out that you want a bill on your desk with a strong and viable Public Option?
Thank you,
MindPilot

1. Well he's already said that, repeatedly
So I guess you wasted a question.

If you want him to veto anything that doesn't have a public option, then I guess you want him to veto me since I rely on subsidized insurance for my health.

4. Then apparently he hasn't said it enough
since no one in the media seems to have heard it. And yes I do want him to veto anything without a public option because nothing less is worth discussing.

As for the last part of your comment, frankly I don't get what you are talking about.

6. I Have Subsidized Insurance
That is how Oregon has extended health care to many adults. In order for me to oppose a plan without a public option, I would have to oppose the method my husband and I are currently getting our health care. Kind of stupid of me to do that, don't you think?

If someone you loved were alive only because of a subsidized insurance plan, then what would you say?

7. If Obama vetoes a bill because it doesn't have a public option
that is not going to change the plan that your state currently provides. Not unless your governor and legislators intend to be real shitheads and pull your current plan because the president vetoed a bill that didn't cover everyone. That doesn't even make sense.

Worst case scenario is you keep what you currently have; best case, you get to choose between a state and federal plan or one supplements the other. So no, opposing a bill which fails to incorporate a public option is not stupid.

11. Yes I did.
Are you trying to get me to say I would be willing to support federal subsidy of insurance companies in lieu of a public option? If so, the answer is no.

2. I asked one too.
Will your new healthcare plan make sure that all Americans will
have access to healthcare as needed?

3. Here's Mine:
In my invitation, this event was billed as a forum on "health INSURANCE reform", while the RSVP billed this event as a forum on "health CARE reform". Since paying for health CARE goes against the health INSURANCE industry's fiduciary obligation to maximize profits for their shareholders, I feel health CARE reform can best be accomplished by expanding the medicare program to cover all of us, allowing us to opt-out of for-profit insurance if we choose to.

So my question to President Obama is: Do you intend to reform health INSURANCE, or health CARE?

10. ^ I like it :)
Given the intro and Wasserman's comments so far, I don't think anyone even read my question.

12. Excellent question.
Dollars to doughnuts it won't get asked, nor will it get answered.

9. And here's the bulk of my question...
"Would you agree to asking all who file a 1040 form the following question: "Are you in favor of having Medicare provide your health care? (yes/no)"

Seems a fair way to justify whether Medicare is good medicine. I doubt it'll make the list.
