David Gregory still doesn't know how HCR is going to be paid for
He's on MSNBC now with Andrea Greenspan floating the same old RW meme that we (as in middle class) are going to be taxed to pay for it. Ignoring the fact that Obama has already said the unfunded third is going to be paid for with the expiration of Bush's tax cuts for the ultra-rich.

Great job David, I'm sure your corporate masters are so proud.

2. As much as I abhor that smarmy POS, he did say that ..
.. how HCR is going to be paid for hasn't been discussed enough.

I agree. It needs to yelled from every Dem platform. But, so far, its not.

4. So I heard a stat this morning on the radio. We spend 10% of our GNP
on health care. Most of it is funneled through insurers first. So the CEO of United Health care gets $100,000 an hour in pay for instance. It seems once we cut the private sector out of the equation, we could raise various taxes to 3% of the GNP and have more than plenty to cover every single person in the USA with Cadillac quality health care. Of course Mr. CEO and his ilk need to go stand in line at the Unemployment Office.

6. David's got those old kneepads strapped on again?
MTPs ratings are falling and he's out working the streets again to maintain the good graces of his corporate pimps.

So sad.

Well David, let me explain it to you slowly and in a way you can understand:

1) We already spend about twice as much per capita as France does and still have 15% of our population not covered by insurance of any kind.

2) Given the above, Medicare for All, with strict cost, price and fraud controls would actually cost between 1/3 and 1/2 of what we're spending NOW. The money is already there. Nobody would have to pay more, just additional taxes where they're now paying premiums.

3) At a savings of $2.4K/person/year, consumer savings on health insurance costs would free up approximately $864 BILLION PER YEAR for consumers and government to pump into the economy.

4) The "Death Panels" are the bureaucrats the insurance companies hire to deny care, cancel coverage and pump up the bottom line.

If you continue to act stupid, people are going to believe you ARE stupid and you're career will be over.

8. From what I've read in HR3200 most of us will be paying for it
by being forced to continue contributing to the private insurance companies. Outside of the mandatory payments to the crooks, it really isn't all that different than how we're paying for it without "reform".

10. I think we should cut corporate subsidies to pay for it, since we will be taking the burden of
health care costs off of employers it is basically a new subsidy

Throw that out there for the RWers to chew on.. no new taxes, no bigger government, no new spending. Just a redirection of money from one form of subsidy to another
