Where is our town hall outrage!?!?
Maybe I am mistaken (and I hope I am) but it seems these fringe wingnuts have been successful in propagating what the Insurance companies want their puppets to say... "Health care reform bad", "unaffordable health insurance for citizens good". They are showing up at the Town halls with their obnoxious booing, screaming, signs, guns, etc and are setting the tone and getting the media coverage. Why aren't we coming together to counter them in the numbers they are coming out in? We don't need to show up with the same kind of vitriol they are, but we need to make sure congress knows they are not the sole voice of America!!!

I contemplated dropping my health insurance some months back because I pay over 400 a month through my employer and it's killing me. Then in July I went to the Emergency Room and wound up having emergency surgery. I got the bill and I felt ill. Had I dropped my health insurance I would be looking at a 28,000 hospital bill. I have written my congressman and senator (lot of good that will do since I live in GA), I talk to friends and co-workers about the issue, but I don't feel like I'm making the impact that the voices screaming "Nazi" are making.

I am outraged private insurance is being defended as the victim here!! I want to protest and be seen. So... where are we?

shout down the shouters, or at the very least tell them to be quiet. The average civil American is quickly losing patience with these rude bullies.

3. I hope that's true
...of the co-workers I have talked to (I work for a small company, so the number is probably only 12 or 13 I've talked to about it), they all believe a public option is evil. I know this is GA but come ON.

4. RW radio/TV has been effective with their listeners - they really believe the lies being spread
they are probably the 1 in 4 that do not favor a public option

Here are some polling responses I found a while back. I think it was posted elsewhere, but here is some good information.

7. We had one yesterday
with DeMint, if you really want to call it a town hall. They charged $10 to get in, we were told any disruptors would be thrown out, not allowed to bring in signs etc. DeMint was thrown softball questions from his fans and the rest of us stood outside in the heat across the street protesting. Basically all it was was a republican fundraiser. Town halls are meant to have differing opinions and if the democrats didn't allow in opponents we would be railed in the news.
