Fuck You, Tom Ridge
So, you sat idly by and watched the president deliberately manipulate the public with hysterical fear in order to win an election, and you said and did nothing. You did nothing knowing that such manipulation is illegal and endangers the public.

And now, five fucking years later, you want to clear your conscience by writing a book so that you can make money off of your betrayal to the public.

Sir, go fuck yourself.

1. Evne back then
I never for a moment doubted that the pre-election terror alerts were calculated manipulation to keep 9/11 front and center for the political gain of the Republicans.

More and more shit like this is going to come out as time goes by.

9. In fact, isn't he the one who did the deed?
Didn't the Orange alerts require his sanction and authorization (which he now claims was done under pressure from others)?

8. I call it terrorism
Republicans are terrorists.

they use terror for political purposes.

You might be surprised to discover that the Bush Administration falsely elevated the Terror Alert Levels for political purposes, including days after Kerry’s acceptance speech at the DNC, leading up to the 2004 elections.

Oh, I forgot. You read. So you’re not surprised by this. You may even recall, as I do, sensing the manipulation at play and deciding that you wouldn’t be terrorized into not living, which means you found yourself in a major airport just months after 9-11, trying to fly internationally.

...

Liberals, in their “paranoid, anti-patriotic” way, suspected that the terror alerts were being used politically, but of course, the rabid left would say anything to criticize the guy who was appointed King by the SCOTUS instead of duly elected. Just to prove them wrong, the right was determined to get that man elected for real the second time around.

All they needed was a little help from their friends at the DHS. Like say, the Secretary, Tom Ridge? Yeah, that guy who’s releasing a book on September 1, titled “The Test of Our Times: America Under Siege…and How We Can Be Safe Again”. In this gem, Ridge admits that he considered resigning when asked to raise the terror alert levels on the eve of Bush’s “election” in 2004. ....."

12. So it was all a coincidence?
The orange alerts that were hot and heavy in the weeks before the election and that largely disappeared afterward were legit? And Ridge can play the hero now, saying that he was pressured to do the very thing he did but that he didn't succumb to that pressure? I don't get it.
