Kid Spends Summer Becoming YouTube Star

8th Grader Nicholi White's Videos, Recorded At Apple Store, Make Him An Internet Sensation Reporting

Megan Glaros NEW YORK (CBS) Harlem resident Nicholi White, an eighth grader at I.S. 195, has spent his summer vacation becoming a YouTube sensation.

One Harlem kid became a YouTube sensation during his break, and he can't wait to tell his class all about it.

Harlem resident Nicholi White, an eighth grader at I.S. 195, is now a true YouTube sensation.

"I can't explain who this is so big," Nicholi says. "I just blew up in stardom. It's really good, yeah."

Nicholi has posted around 20 of his videos on YouTube, and now has over 250,000 hits on just one of his performances.

"I think I'm gonna hit a million!" he said.

Nicholi came up with the idea as a way to keep himself busy and out of trouble this summer, but when he decided to post videos online, he had a setback.

He's got a computer, but no camera.

"I had a thought in my head I should go to the Apple store, because they have a webcam and I could make YouTube videos," Nicholi said.

The Apple Store at 58th Street and Fifth Avenue has become Nicholi's home away from home. He's recorded all of his videos there, and he plans on making another on Friday.

Apple must be doing ok.

I just hope this doesn't turn out to be an ad for Apple Stores.
